We're honored that you're ready to transfer your crop insurance coverage to us. Our agents work to make the transition as smooth and seamless as possible. This post sets clear expectations — the deadlines, what we need to get started, and what documents help us move fast.
Deadlines
Crop insurance transfers can only apply to upcoming crop years. If a policy's application period has already passed USDA-RMA's Sales Closing Deadline (SCD), we can't transfer coverage for that crop year — these deadlines are strictly enforced, so the earlier you talk to your agent, the better.
Your current Approved Insurance Provider (AIP), agency, and assigned agent remain responsible for your active 2026-and-earlier policies.
Fruit farmers: to select Resilient for the 2027 crop year, your specialty crop transfer deadline is November 20, 2026.
What we need to get started
Getting started is simple. To initiate your transfer, all we technically need is:
Your current Approved Insurance Provider (AIP) name
Your current policy number
The crops you wish to transfer
With just that, we can rebuild your profile and policy setup alongside you.
Helpful supporting documents
Not required to start — but the more you can send, the faster we move and the fewer delays we hit with your current provider.
Perennial crops (apples, blueberries, cherries, grapes, peaches):
Schedule of Insurance (SOI) — your current coverage elections, liabilities, and premiums (SSN/EIN are often hidden on this form; be ready to verify with your agent)
Approved Production History (APH) — your historical yield records
Approved Revenue History (ARH) — tart & sweet cherries only; historical revenue alongside yield history
Producer's Pre-Acceptance Worksheet (PPAW / PAW) — planted perennial acres, crop varieties, acreage, planting dates, tree/vine spacing, block density
Production Report (PR) — current crop year production
Insurance maps — your farm's planted acreage
Crop Insurance Application or Renewal — entity details, EIN, key stakeholders, authorized signers (mostly captured in your SOI — least critical of the group)
Row crops (barley, corn, soybeans, wheat):
Schedule of Insurance (SOI) — current elections, coverages, liabilities, premiums
Approved Production History (APH) — historical yield database
Production Report (PR) — current-year production
Insurance maps — field boundaries and planted acres
Crop Insurance Application or Renewal — entity details and authorized signers
